Driving Directions
Washington, D.C. is circled by the Capital Beltway, formed by Interstates I-495 and I-95. Interstate 66 leads from Washington, DC west to Virginia. Interstate 50 heads east to Annapolis, MD, the Chesapeake Bay and the beaches. Interstate I-95 heads north to Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York. Green Initiatives

Earth-minded visitors find the Walter E. Washington Convention Center one of the most environmentally-friendly convention centers in the country. The carbon footprint is reduced because it is outfitted with eco-friendly fixtures like low-emission glass that moderates temperature and provides natural lighting and the HVAC systems are computer-controlled to minimize waste. Supplies are sourced from District-based companies to reduce emissions from delivery vehicles. Environmentally-friendly cleaning products are used throughout the building, and even the walls are painted with paints containing low to no volatile organic compounds. Plus, there is a Metro station on site, making it easy for attendees to rely on public transportation.
